August Group Meeting 2016

2016 Aug 20

We had quite a large turn out for our group.  The technique of Shadow Folding was taught this month.  The finished example passed around looked great and we couldn't wait to get started.

The most time consuming part is marking the fabric with the pattern where the stitches will go. The challenging part was recognizing the dots that belonged to the grouping that made up the square or triangle to be stitched.  Looking up at the paper pattern and flattening out the fabric made it clear and everyone got their pattern completed.  Unfortunately we did not have an iron to press down the frabric to really bring out the shapes but it was noticeable as hands pressed down on each stitched shape of octogon, square, and triangle.  This was a very interesting and fun session.
